Sagittarius Solar Eclipse Ritual Guide
Eclipse Epiphanies
On Saturday 4th December 2021, we will experience a Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius. Viewed as a powerful portal, this Solar Eclipse will bring an abundance of cosmic change. Solar eclipses only occur on a New Moon when the Moon crosses between the Sun and the Earth. A New Moon means new beginnings but this eclipse makes it super charged and, as it’s the last New Moon of the year, the energy is amplified making it a very special time for intention setting. Eclipses have their own level of intensity and while under the spell of one, our intuition is often much stronger. However, because this new moon is in optimistic Sagittarius we should also be feeling positive. We will feel a sense of letting go and starting anew. As Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion, this adventurous sign asks us to look at the bigger picture. It's time to think big, ask yourself - what do you want for the future?
This marks the end of the 2021 eclipse season. Surprisingly, we won’t see another eclipse in adventurous Sagittarius for many years so make time to harness this vibrant energy. With Neptune the planet of dreams also going direct this week, it is time to truly manifest your heart’s desires. As the Sun meets the Moon tonight, the time to believe in yourself and follow your soul’s purpose is now. Anything is possible if you just let go of things holding you back, get out of your own way and surrender to what could be.

Cleansing
Sagittarius is a fire sign, so beginning the ritual with a steam facial cleanse is a great way to start the process of letting go. Cleanse your face and then bring water to the boil, remove from heat and add into a bowl or basin add a few drops of a peppermint essential oil to empower, and herbs such as chamomile and lavender to calm. Lean over the basin keeping your face about 30cm from the water. Drape a towel over your head to keep the steam in and sit for about 8 minutes to cleanse and detoxify your pores.

Gratitude Practice
It is uplifting to practice gratitude and give yourself a chance to reflect on all of the amazing things that happened for you this year. What did you achieve or overcome? What moments brought you joy? Were there people that you loved creating memories with? What are you most appreciative of right now?
Create a memory box of the best moments of 2021. Add pictures of loved ones, names of songs or key words that summed up the year, write a letter to your future self, telling yourself all the great things you did in 2021 and all of the fun you’re looking forward to in 2022. You can add in goals for the coming year, you could even cut out pictures of places you wish to visit in post pandemic life. Add dried flowers or scented paper - any momentos that remind you of the good moments from 2021. Remember to add the date to your box before putting it away somewhere safe. You can then review the box in years to come to see how much you’ve grown. You could select a metal box and bury these memories in the garden, burying things in the earth is said to bring longevity to your spells and wishes.
Manifest Magick
Light a candle and take some deep breaths before manifesting your dreams. Here are some questions to consider and write in your journal to get you in the flow of designing your perfect life. When you’re done feel free to add this writing to your memory box.
As the year closes and we move forward into 2022 - how do you want this next year to be?
Ask yourself...
What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?
What commitments or tasks am I holding onto that are draining me? How can I let them go?
How can I spend some time doing things I love? How can I call more joy into my life?
What do I most want more than anything in the world? What is one thing I can do this month to make it happen? What planning can I do to make this desire happen over the next 12 months?
Write a mantra for yourself, imagine you are already living the life you want, who do you need to become, energetic, disciplined, calm or light hearted? What daily actions do you need to take to make this happen - more time for meditation or exercise for example? Write the mantra in the present tense so it feels as though it is already happening, make sure it feels challenging, inspiring, but also achievable and that it is clear enough to know when you are now living this life...
You can then close the manifestation practice by creating a dream board - you could either draw or paint your ideal life, or you could create it digitally via platforms like Pinterest.
