  • Total time:   10 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons of chopped ceremonial cacao or 10 cacao discs

  • 1 cup of rose tea or sweet rose tulsi tea

  • 1 teaspoon monkfruit powder OR 1 date OR 1 teaspoon of raw honey or maple syrup

  • A pinch of Himalayan Salt

  • Optional Rose Petals

Instructions

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until creamy. Start on low speed, slowly increasing to high.

If making the Elixir without a blender combine all ingredients in a pot on low heat, and let the cacao melt while constantly stirring it (don't let it boil). Pour the cacao in a cup that feels special. Optionally, add rose petals on top.

This non-alcoholic mocktail is warming yet refreshing with a hint of sparkle. The perfect drink to celebrate Blue Moon, Halloween, Pagan NYE and the pagan festival Samhain, all of which take place on the 31st October.

Apples are a hugely symbolic fruit featured prominently throughout art, religion and science. Think garden of Eden and Isaac Newton for example. For the Greeks it was associated with Aphrodite, Goddess of love. In paganism it is held in high regard because of its physical features. When sliced into discs a 5 pointed star or pentacle is revealed at its core. This symbol represents the four elements earth, air, water and fire with the fifth, skyward facing point referring to the human spirit, reminding us of our connection and oneness with nature. I’ve combined this with fiery ginger to bring warmth and spice ( it is also said to ward off evil ) plus medicinal and aromatic rosemary, a symbol of love and loyalty which is said to dispel grief and bitterness. A stimulant and tonic for the whole body it is also associated with remembrance, fitting nicely with this spiritual time where we also remember all souls.
