Scorpio New Moon Ritual

A New Moon in mysterious and moody Scorpio is the most powerful and magickal moon of the year. Scorpio is ruled by both Mars, the planet of action and desire, and Pluto, the planet of transformation, making this New Moon an opportunity to go deep within and embrace your shadows. Use this intense dark moon to alchemise - turn the shadow into light and seek your inner truth.

With Mars in Scorpio right now, fire and passion turn to self inquiry. Mars feels very at home in this sign and encourages us to overcome fears, move past blocks, and let go of what no longer serves us to bring in the new.

This is a time for transformation. The moon falls in the season of the witch making it a perfect opportunity to cast a manifestation spell…

Scorpio New Moon Spell

You will need:

A dark crystal - we recommend Obsidian or Smoky Quartz (but it can be any crystal or something from nature that you feel drawn to)

 A piece of paper

 String

 A jar

Your favourite incense or burn loose herbs to burn on a charcoal disc, we recommend:

Mugwart - for focus during spells

Frankincense - for spiritual cleansing

Lotus flowers - a symbol of purity, enlightenment, self-regeneration and rebirth

Gather your magickal items and begin the spell after dark…

Tell your wishes to the smoke…

If you’re creating your own incense with the herbs above simply mix a pinch or so of dried mugwart, three granules of frankincense resin and six petals of lotus flowers into a small ball, stir the herbs three times in a clockwise direction. At the same time, set the intention to empower yourself to create the life you desire.

Next take a charcoal disc, hold carefully with tongs and light until it starts to spark, it may take about 30 seconds. Place into a heat proof dish or cauldron. Be careful as it will become very hot. Once the disc starts to go grey it is ready for you to sprinkle the mix of herbs upon.

As the smoke starts to curl, whisper into the smoke -

“Even in the darkness I can shine, I embrace my shadow and I am empowered to make good things happen”

Crystal Meditation

Take your dark crystal in your hand and hold at your heart centre, close your eyes, take three cleansing breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth while you settle into stillness. Notice any distracting thoughts and any connected emotions, allow yourself to sit with them for a while, acknowledge them, name them as a way to neutralise them and then let go of them. Breathe even circular breaths, equal the length of the in and out breath, remembering that breath work is the most powerful tool we have to alchemise. Listen to your intuition, your inner knowing, what message does this new moon bring for you?

Manifestation Magick

Take the piece of paper and draw an eight pointed sun, the yang to the Moon’s yin. At each point of the sun write down a word that represents an area of your life, from spirituality, love, relationships, finances, and creativity. Write a few words for how you want that area to be - as if it was already completely perfect. Feel gratitude for each area in your life, by feeling grateful we’re giving a message out to the universe that we trust that we will receive what is meant for us. Complete the practice by writing inside the sun “I am worthy of great things”.

Take the paper and roll it into a scroll tying it with the string and place inside the jar along with the crystal. Keep the jar in a safe place, perhaps on a windowsill under the dark moon’s energy.

Seal the spell - by saying out loud, “with my words I create, so mote it be.”

Revisit the jar as often as you wish, feel inspired to write down ideas of how you could align actions to make these wishes reality. Come back to the jar in 6 months on New Moon in Taurus (30th April 2022) and revisit the wishes. In the spring, plant them in soil allowing them to grow and flourish. Remember, in magick if you want something to be lasting it is believed that burying it will give the intention longevity.

Remember darlings, you are the magick.
